DEMCON Nymus3D

Starting July 2015, nymus 3D is a part of DEMCON, a high-end technology supplier of products and systems. DEMCON is a fast growing company and enables Nymus3D to grow and professionalise.

What we do

Together with our clients we visualize scientific concepts in order to assist communication of complex subjects. Vital to this is the iterative process in order to go from concept to animation, during which we continuously remain in contact with our clients to create an optimal final result. Our team has a scientific background with a combined experience of over 40 years in 3D animation, this ensures our process of iterative deliberation is handled with particular efficiency.

Please have look at our clients and previous projects to get an impression of our work. For additional information, feel free to contact us.

Michel Franken

Studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Twente with an MSc in “Measurement & Control Engineering”. In 2011 he completed his PhD research on haptic feedback systems at the same university. Afterwards he started at DEMCON as an Applied Research Engineer and worked on the development of several medical and robotic systems. His involvement in these development became focused more on project management and up to 2016 he was responsible for the complete public-private partnership portfolio of the full DEMCON Holding. Since 2016 he is part of the DEMCON Nymus 3D team in the role of business manager.

Vincent Bos

Vincent studied photography at the Royal Acedemy of Art in the Hague and applied mathematics at the University of Twente. Within Nymus he focusses on both handling and continuously improving the quality of our projects.

Gino Dammers

With a long track record in the games industry since 1998, fulfilling creative, technical and managing roles; Gino brings an important set of skills to Nymus3D. World famous studios he worked for include: Guerrilla in Amsterdam, GRIN in Stockholm and Splash Damage in London.

Rebecca Bertram

Originally from Germany but for some time now living in the eastern part of the Netherlands where she studied art and technology at the Saxion University in Enschede. In addition to her studies, she successfully completed the Honours Programme of Saxion University as well as doing an internship at Daedalic Enterainment in Hamburg. After a very successful graduation project with Nymus she now works full time with us where she focusses on storyboarding and 3D production.

Luke Whitehorn

Originally from England but moved to Enschede to strengthen our team. Luke studied physics at the University of Kent in Canterbury. At the AWE he worked on numerical simulations for nuclear weapons after which he transfered to 3D animation at gamestudio massive ubisoft and working on the movie Iron Sky. Luke is an addition to the team with his scientific background, knowledge of numerical methods and programming and experience in 3D production.

Luis Lopes

Luis and his family moved to the Netherlands from Portugal to join Nymus. He studied biochemistry at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. After graduating, he started working in the visual effects industry where he managed to create a large portfolio of advertising and television projects. His years of experience in high-end 3D animation and his masters in biochemistry are a real addition to the team.

Hans Clevers

Hans Clevers is a professor in molecular genetics and one of the world's leading researchers on normal stem cells and their potential for regenerative therapy. He received the Spinoza Prize in 2001 and became director of the Hubrecht Institute in 2002. In March 2012, he was elected as is the president of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences. In 2013 he was awarded the $3 million Breakthrough Prize in Life Sciences for his work.

Hans Clevers successfully uses animation to elucidate the complex world of molecular genetics, both during scientific conferences as well as live on stage in one of the biggest shows on national television: De Wereld Draait Door.

Dave Blank

Dave Blank is a professor in materials science and a driving force behind nanotechnology, in part as chairman of NanoNextNL. He became the Scientific Director of MESA+ Institute for Nanotechnology in 2007 and is a member of the scientific advisory committee to the Dutch government. He received the Simon Stevin Meester Prize in 2011 and was awarded the FOM Valorisation Award for successfully building bridges between science, business and society.
